The idea of L’Apical has always been clear
To work with the autochthonous varieties of the Penedès.
Under the commercial brand Apical, we produced, in 2018, about 10,000 bottles, all of them using autochthonous varieties of Penedès, where the influence of the sun and the Mediterranean Sea make it a privileged territory for cultivating the grapevine.
Our project originated in El Penedès, more specifically in El Baix Penedès, an energetic land, with a very important cultural background, and where the vine and the wine create a unique landscape.
At present, we are producing the following wines:
After almost seven years
We can show that our wines are having an excellent reception in the national market , including being placed in some menus from Michelin-starred restaurants . We plan to almost double the production next year.
In 2017 and 2018 we have started exporting a small part of our production, specifically to Sweden and England. Over the past few months we have contacted different distributors in Japan , where we are likely to attend a presentation in February 2019, in Germany and in Ireland.
The welcome and the perspectives are being very good.
Who makes l’Apical
l’Apical is a project that was born in 2012 in Penedes . The project is made up of Sergi Sevillano , Martí Giralt and Josep Badia .
An unstoppable trio , where everyone knows their functions very well, but at the same time everybody does everything: We’ll all harvest the grapes, we all bottle and we all sell our products . Great teamwork.
Our philosophy is to grow
Under undeniable criteria: Maximum fidelity to the land and to autochthonous varieties in our territory. In 2012 we started with 1200 bottles and during 2019 we will reach 12,000 bottles; a progression that is done slowly but surely, with no hurry.
